What is Flux Ai?
It’s a new MIND BLOWING, free text to image generator by Black Forest Labs. A part of the team used to work for Stability AI, the creator of the popular Stable Diffusion line of AI image models.
What sets Flux apart from Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and many of its competitors?
Most notably, it has no barrier to entry, especially the cost and the skills needed to go ahead and experiment with. They also have two smaller versions that can run on reasonably cheap hardware like your laptop or home computer.
When you run it locally, It also means you don’t need internet access or cloud storage to run Flux. And, while Midjourney has been acclaimed for its capacity to produce extremely realistic and artistically appealing images, Flux claims to have certain specific advantages, notably when depicting human figures. Black Forest Labs is currently working on adding a text-to-video paradigm to their portfolio.
It’s even great at generating images of hands and eyes unlike any other tool out there
How do I use it?
There are 3 versions available at the moment.
FLUX.1 [pro]
The best of FLUX.1, offering state-of-the-art performance image generation with top of the line prompt following, visual quality, image detail and output diversity. This model will give you the highest quality version but you’ll have to pay for it. Available to test here
FLUX.1 [dev]
FLUX.1 [dev] is an open-weight, guidance-distilled model for non-commercial applications. Directly distilled from FLUX.1 [pro], FLUX.1 [dev] obtains similar quality and prompt adherence capabilities, while being more efficient than a standard model of the same size. Available to test here
FLUX.1 [schnell]
The fastest model is tailored for local development and personal use. FLUX.1 [schnell] is openly available under an Apache2.0 license. This version can run easily on your own laptop or desktop. Available to test here
