1. Through Market Research.

No matter what type of business you are starting or running, you will have competitors. Starting a business needs a lot of determination and time. When you have a good idea and the right kind of market research, this can be enough to start the business without investing money. Even if there is no other business offering exactly what you plan to sell, there are very likely to be other products or services your target customers are using to satisfy their needs.  To make sure that your business survives all the odds and succeeds, it’s important that you are willing to take the tough steps and do the sacrifices when the time comes. When you have a good idea, and you see that the market is potential enough, it will allow you to get the attention of the investors as well.

To be successful, you need to research the competition and find out as much as possible about what they sell and how they sell it. Competitive research is something you should plan on doing on an ongoing basis, too. If there really aren’t any other competitors, it’s possible there isn’t a market or a real need for what you want to sell. Good market research can help you in keeping ready for what will happen next. It improves decision-making and lowers the risk.

2.  Find The Niche To Avoid Large Competitions.

Every small business owner has certain skills, abilities, knowledge, and experience that give them an edge when it comes time to build up a business and start operating it. However, no small business owner is so adept that they can be an expert in every single process related to developing a new company. Since you don’t have the money, so affording any mergers is out of the question.   Here you will need to find the niche; it’s a small but profitable market’s subdivision where the customer didn’t interest the competitors. You can be more specific with whom you are targeting and the specific customer based on demographic and geography. Also, it can help in making the idea one of its kind.

3. Focus On Something You Have a Passion For.

The best ideas that you can get are out of the convergence of passion and skills set along with a problem that needs solving. However, it’s also important to understand that not all passions are helpful or marketable. That’s why it’s important that you have the combination of all three together. Take your skillset, knowledge and dig deeper into the industry you are interested in. There will be several problems which are not solved yet or people don’t have satisfactory results. You might even find the problems which do not even address yet. The best way you can consider finding the solution is based on your need. Think about what kind of solution you want that can solve your problem. There will be more people like you who are looking for similar things.

4. Embrace Digital Marketing.

One of the major differences that make starting a business without money easier for the entrepreneur in today’s era is the presence of the internet and social media. And it’s a golden opportunity to build the demand.  Instead of stressing about how people want your product or business, the entrepreneurs require to create the demand first. Even if you’re running a local business, you need a comprehensive digital presence. At a minimum, you need a professional-looking website, an email list that lets you communicate with customers and prospects on a regular basis and a presence on the social media channels that your customers frequent. While you may get many of your customers by word of mouth, referrals, or networking, you still need a strong digital presence. The reason: prospective customers are likely to look you up on the web before they decide whether or not to contact you. Coupons, special offers, and practical information sent to your email list can encourage customers and prospects to buy from you or make repeat purchases.

5. Ignore Self-doubt.

When starting a business there many doubts that entrepreneurs normally have like; “Is my business really going to be successful”, “am I really on the right track”, “why do I keep failing”. Even the greatest of all time have these self-doubts it is important you ignore these doubts to avoid being weighed down to quitting. The difference between successful people and everyone else is that successful people learn from their mistakes and move on. They don’t dwell on failure, blame the economy, curse their bad luck, or blame other people for their fate. If the path to their goal is blocked, they look for an alternate path or sometimes choose a different, more attainable goal.
